Center City Connector Awarded $75M
The February announcement that President Obama's FY 2017 budget proposes a $75M FTA grant to fund the Center City Connector signaled a major funding milestone for the keystone line of Seattle's streetcar system. SDOT has identified new project team leadership to design and construct the project in close coordination with community stakeholders.
Free-Ride Days on the First Hill Streetcar
Ride the First Hill Streetcar free to re-discover, celebrate and explore some of Seattle’s most vibrant urban neighborhoods. Join these neighborhoods in celebrating their streetcar stops:
Sunday, June 26 - Celebrate Pride and show support for Seattle's LGBTQ community with a parade from 11AM - 2PM through downtown, festival at the Seattle Center from 12PM - 8PM, and events throughout Capitol Hill. Take the First Hill Line to Broadway & Denny stop.
- Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 - Join the Northwest's largest pan-Asian celebration with cultural performances and delicious food all weekend long in Seattle's Chinatown-International District. Take the First Hill Line to stops at Jackson St & 5th, 7th and 12th Avenues S
- Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24 - Enjoy over 100 performances as part of the 3 day Capitol Hill Block party which takes over 6 city blocks (tickets required). Take the First Hill Line to Broadway & Pine stop.
- Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7 - Experience amazing art demonstrating the Pacific Northwest's vibrant culture and diversity at the Seattle Art Fair in the CenturyLink Field Event Center. Take the First Hill Line to Jackson & 5th or Jackson & Occidental stops.
Environmental Assessment Released
The Seattle Center City Connector Environmental Assessment (EA) is available for public review and comment for a 30 day period, beginning on May 9, 2016. The EA is available online at Seattle Center City Connector Environmental Assessment. Hard copies are available for review at local libraries and from SDOT. Written comments on the EA must be postmarked or emailed by 5:00 pm on Wednesday June 8, 2016.
SDOT will hold three public meetings to present findings of the EA. The first open house will be held:
